The Kenan Rifai Center of Sufi Studies has been inaugurated at Kyoto University. After the Islamic Studies Chairs in the US and China, the Center of Sufi Studies has been established in Japan.
The inauguration ceremony of the Kenan Rifai Center of Sufi Studies established in Kyoto University through the joint initiatives of the Turkish Women’s Cultural Association (TURKKAD) and Kerim Foundation was on March 6, Sunday, in Japan.
This research center which has been established in Japan through the ventures of Ms. Cemalnur Sargut is the third such center to be opened. The Kenan Rifai Islamic Studies Chair was established at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the US in 2009, followed by the chair established in the Peking University Advanced Humanistic Studies Institute in 2011.
