We believe that it is extremely important to present the personality of Prophet Muhammad so that the understanding of the Unity of Islam can be spread. This year, we have been able to organize a third assembly celebrating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad which we hope to make a traditional happening. This assembly hopes to promote understanding and recognition of the Prophet Muhammad, and also to award those who help with this endeavour. This year’s assembly includes presenting the 2007 “DOST” Serving Islam award to two valued people.

This year, one of the people whom this award will be presented to is Dr. Muhammed Hamidullah, the owner of a work that contains information on the life of the Prophet Muhammad and also many rare historical documents. This is a world-renowned work and is originally in French; after being translated into Turkish, there have been many editions printed. The owner of this work has also served in many universities in Turkey.

Y. Mim. Yusuf Omurlu has been seen as deserving of this same award from within the country. The 2007 “DOST” Serving Islam award is presented to him because of the many musical works that he has gathered and compiled into a book.
